“I’ll figure it out later.”

I used to say that a lot—especially in the early days of running my school and consulting firm.

And funny enough, I said it with confidence, like I actually had a plan.

But the truth?

“Later” was just me dodging uncomfortable decisions.

The Lie We Tell Ourselves

There was a time one of my campuses had serious issues with staff attitude.

Deep down, I knew what needed to be done.

It was time for a full retraining.
A proper restructuring.

But instead, I kept saying:

“Make we just finish this term first. I’ll figure it out later.”

Later never came.

The problem grew wings.

By the time I finally acted, I had already lost one or two good families who withdrew their children because of poor service.

That moment taught me something I will never forget:

Every delay has a price tag.

The Hidden Cost of “Later”

Sometimes the cost is money.
Sometimes it’s your reputation.
Sometimes it’s your peace of mind.

But one thing is certain:

You will pay for delay one way or another.

As business owners, we like to feel in control.

So we say things like:

It sounds responsible.

It sounds strategic.

But in most cases, it’s just procrastination… dressed up as planning.

There Is No Perfect Time

Let’s be honest.

There is never a perfect time.

You either fix things when they are small…
or you pay heavily when they explode.

The choice is always yours.

What Changed Everything for Me

Things began to shift the moment I started taking full responsibility for every part of my business.

Not just the visible parts.

Everything.

And do you know what changed first?

My clarity.

Clarity Comes From Action, Not Thinking

A lot of people are waiting to feel clear before they act.

But that’s not how it works.

Clarity no dey come from sitting down dey think.

It comes from doing.

From trying.
From adjusting.
From learning in motion.

You cannot think your way into a better business.

You build your way into it.

Later Is Not a Plan

Now, anytime I catch myself saying, “I’ll figure it out later,” I pause.

Because I understand what that really means.

Later is not a plan.

Later is procrastination wearing fine cloth.

What Are You Postponing?

If there’s something in your business you’ve been avoiding:

Abeg, do it now.

I understand the fear.
I understand the confusion.
I understand that feeling of “I don’t even know where to start.”

But here is the truth:

Nothing changes until you take responsibility.

Final Thoughts

You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start.

You just need to stop deceiving yourself that “later” will fix it.

Start small.
Adjust as you go.
Learn as you grow.

Na so businesses dey move forward.

Make sense?

Keep winning!
